Our latest Prayer Points...

Prayer Points for the week starting Monday 15th August 2022

Kia Ora, greetings, Church

How has your week been? Commiserated with the All Blacks because they lost? Rejoiced as we had quite a bit of sunshine in and around Cambridge? Concerned about your health? Thankful for unexpected blessings? Reached out to others? Spoke an encouraging word to someone?

In our homegroup this week during our prayer time the LORD prompted the verses from Colossians 3:16-17 (NIV) ‘Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Admonish is a word that we do not often use but in this context, I like to think it means approve and praise, not warn or reproach. Despite anything happening in our lives, we can do this, encourage one another with words of praise because of what HE has done for us? Could we become a church that builds up people? Let’s all be challenged this week to seek out and speak encouraging words to anyone coming across our paths.

Prayer Points for the week starting Monday 15th August:

  • Thank and praise ‘the LORD for has done great things for us and we are glad’ Psalm 126:3 (NKJV) despite our circumstances.
  • Thank the LORD for several new people who have come to join our fellowship. Pray that they will feel welcomed. Let’s make them feel very much at home. We welcome everyone to Church with or without masks.
  • Keep praying for our people who are unable to come to church. Pray that the LORD will meet them in their loneliness and that HIS healing hand will be upon them. We delivery our weekly newsletter and prayer points to people who are unable to come to church and are not on email. Pray for more volunteers to come forward – contact Gillian in the office if you would like to be part of this (either regularly or occasionally).
  • Pray that we become more like HIM as individuals and collectively as a Christian fellowship and encourage each other on our journey of faith.
  • Keep up your praise and thanks to the LORD that Ken Keyte will be our new Senior Pastor. Please pray for Ken and Raewyn as they prepare for the move ahead.

Please feel free to contact the office if you have specific Prayer Points for our church family. Ph. 07 827 6490 or email: cambap@xtra.co.nz
